STATEMENT OF FAITH
GracePoint aggressively reaches out to unchurched people. Although our approach is anything but traditional, we maintain a conservative theological position.
1. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It was written by human authors,
under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
2. We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things.
He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and
God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
3. We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
4. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One
who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross
in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
5. We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is
determined by our response to Jesus Christ.
6. We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way
of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their
faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.
7. We believe in the importance of water baptism. Baptism is the public
demonstration by an individual acknowledging that they have been saved by grace
through their faith in Jesus. This is depicted by being dunked underwater
symbolizing the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
8. We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve
His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church
and serve the community in which we live.
9. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
We believe this statement to be an accurate summary of what Scripture teaches. Anyone who makes GracePoint their home church should refrain from advocating doctrines that are not included in this statement in a way that causes dissension.
